Groundwater Contamination

REGIONAL GROUNDWATER FLOW PATTERNS IN THE VICINITY OF THE CIBA SITE

Look at flow before and after GERS implementation
Focus on three particular areas:
  • -Flow patterns in the vicinity of the Toms River
  • -Flow patterns in the vicinity of the Oak Ridge subdivision
  • -Flow patterns in the vicinity of Pine Lake Park subdivision

PURPOSE for Developing a Flow Model for OU I
  • -define of the groundwater flow dynamics in the vicinity of the site
  • -design GERS and assess performance
Data requirements (and data source) for the groundwater flow model

  • -geology (borings, monitor wells, United States Geological Survey)
  • -precipitation (United States Geological Survey)
  • -ground water levels (monitor wells)
  • -river levels (United States Geological Survey gage stations)
  • -pumping well rates (operational records)
