Conclusion
Bioremediation
Applicable to contaminated soils, and waste sludge
Applicable to many organic compounds at low to moderate concentrations
Not effective for metals
Not effective for highly concentrated waste
Biodegradation rate (removal efficiency)
Dependent on:
- Types and number of compounds
- Optimization of environmental conditions
- Microbial growth
May not meet cleanup goals for all contaminants
