Have you seen the movie "A Civil Action"?
In Woburn,
people claiming that the drinking water was causing childhood cancer
were initially dismissed as cranks. The corporate polluters used their vast
resources to stonewall and obscure the truth. Many others in the community
thought that the cancer stricken families were simply tearing the community down
and hurting property values with their complaints. Ultimately, years after
litigation was completed, government sponsored studies confirmed the contaminated
drinking water was a major cause of childhood cancer in Woburn.

In Toms River,
we're trying to find out the whole truth before it's too late. It
is only because we have spoken out that:
- We have discovered that there are dangerously high levels of naturally occurring radiologicals in some of the Toms River wells and elsewhere in the Cohansey Aquifer.
- We have learned that there are many hundreds of toxic chemicals that are not routinely tested for under the provisions of the Safe Drinking Water Act. Many of these are tentatively identified compounds or TICs. The people of Toms River may have been exposed to such TICs continuously since the Ciba Geigy contamination in the mid-1960s, and the Reich Farm contamination since 1976.
